The Gravediggers : Lizard - (Guitar)
Lizard writes:-
In the late seventies I was playing in my first band, Electron with fellow guitarist Joe Jewel (Aslan). While playing in Finglas I came to the attention of Rocky Devalera who dispatched big time band manager Doggy Murphy in an attempt to lure me to Howth, home of the Gravediggers. A month later in Howth community centre I found myself alongside the legendary Jack Dublin and a ranting Rocky de Valera performing our very own brand of furious hell for leather rock n roll.
After the Gravediggers I formed the Heartbeats with Jack Dublin, later to be reunited with Rocky devalera and Ritchie Taylor in the Rythm Kings.Later with the demise of the Rhythm Kings I formed The Wilf Brothers with Richie Taylor and Mark Venner which spawned the Cajun Kings. In the late 80s Ijoined the Axis blues band with guitar genius Pete McGowan (Parchment Farm). In 1990 while running the city guitar school in Abbey St. I formed Blueprint with Terry and Jimmy McParland bringing the sounds of Jimmy, Rory and Winter to the likes of the Waterfront, the meeting place and the Baggott Inn. In the late 80,s I also worked as musician with the Team theatre company and the project arts centre.
