A memoir, the book chronicles several stages of the author's turbulent life including growing up in Howth, schooldays in Dublin, rock and roll, astral travel, a brush with brain haemorrhage and cancer and a stint as Gay Byrne's Banana. A particular highlight is the wild, frequently hilarious account of the rock and roll career of Rocky de Valera and the Gravediggers (1977-79) and The Rhythm Kings (1980-83).
